Our status labels describe the strength and type of evidence, not the enthusiasm of an announcement. Current editorial review date: 5 November 2026. This is a manually maintained resource, not a real-time service feed.

Three separate evidence labels

  • Proposal / concept: an idea, policy discussion or study scope. Not transport you can buy.
  • Confirmed development: a specific dated primary announcement about a project milestone. Its wording and scope matter; a study does not establish service.
  • Operating service: current evidence from an identifiable operator supporting the actual route and service. Availability still depends on dates and conditions.

Primary sources checked

The government’s August 2024 account supports the historic proposal scope. The February 2026 investment-agency announcement supports study procurement—not award or launch. The tourist-board FAQ supports the currently published no-ferry advice. Airline sites support the existence of current air-travel sources; they do not justify a static flight timetable here.

Updates and corrections

When reviewing a new claim, check its publication date, originating authority, exact route and whether it concerns procurement, infrastructure or actual operations.
