Planning an inter-island trip
Start with the journey you can verify, then fit the island stays around it. This is a planning framework, not a package, itinerary guarantee or transport reservation.

1. Choose your arrival and departure islands
Write down your long-haul arrival and departure points, travel dates and non-movable commitments. Decide whether you need to return to the first island. An open-jaw trip may reduce backtracking, but compare the actual available flights and total cost before choosing it.
2. Confirm every inter-island leg
Use airline websites for your exact dates. Record whether each service is direct, makes a stop or requires a separate connection. Check the return before paying for the outward leg. Do not substitute a ferry concept for a missing flight.
3. Allow for the door-to-door journey
Set aside time for check-out, transfers, check-in, screening, entry processing, baggage and travel to the next stay. Separate tickets can leave you responsible for missed onward travel. Ask carriers what protection actually applies; do not assume a minimum buffer from this website.
4. Recheck documents and assistance
Check entry requirements separately for each island and your personal circumstances through official authorities. Read each carrier’s current baggage, mobility-assistance, child-travel and special-item rules. Do not assume that sharing a regional destination means sharing all conditions.
5. Keep a disruption plan
Know which reservations can change, where you could stay overnight and whom to contact directly. Keep confirmations and official source links available offline. Recheck operator notices before departure.
